Comprehensive health assessments and individualized treatment plans that address health concerns. This plan of care is tailored to the client’s specific health needs and can be used as an adjunct to current medical care the person is already receiving (including, but not limited to, yoga, meditation (quiet time), and stress management.
Medication education to optimize the benefits of medication already being used.
Weight loss and weight management counseling through stress management techniques
Caregiver workshops and retreats on caring for yourself, as you care for others
Group yoga and meditation
Yoga is designed for all age groups. Through simple asanas (postures), yoga strengthens all the bones and muscles in the body. Balance is improved, lessening the risks of falls. The yoga program can also address specific postures for heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, as well as other chronic health issues. Breathing techniques used in yoga improve breathing capacity and help with asthma. Yoga helps reduce anxiety and is useful for managing depression.
Meditation / Quiet Time¨ – Meditation quiets the nervous system. Heart rate and blood pressure are lowered. Stress hormones adrenalin, nor epinephrine (fight or flight), are controlled and cortisol production slows (high levels of cortisol are associated with weight gain).
